A two day practical and hands on experience in how to reach new people through social media (Friday) and create inviting and welcoming real word experiences (Saturday). You are welcome to attend either or both days.

What to Bring You will leave with an plan for the fall so bring your worship and event schedule! Bring your smartphone, tablet, or laptop.
The Billings site will be a remote site and speakers will be on the screens with live conversation with Rev. Tyler Amundson and others who join at the training.

Friday: Get Serious about Social

Audience This event is for lay and clergy local church leaders. Great for pastors, communicators, office managers, and outreach/evangelism teams. Only a minimum of technical skill is required. If you can take a picture with your smartphone and download an App you can participate in the Friday event. What you will learn

  • What your website is good for (and what it isn’t)
  • Basic social media awareness. Who is where online?
  • When, what, and where to post content
  • How to develop a social media schedule
  • Creating low/no cost video and image content
  • Overview of podcasting

Facilitator Rev. Jeremy W Scott, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Johnstown and formerly the Vital Congregations Developer of the Mountain Sky Conference. Rev. Saturday: Five Things Your Visitors are Thinking but won’t ask

Audience This event is for lay and clergy local church leaders. Great for pastors, trustees, communicators, outreach/evangelism teams, ushers and greeters. What you will learn

  • Best Practices for Signage
  • Visitor welcome do’s and don’ts
  • Top 10 things that prevent visitors form returning
  • How to avoid unspoken rituals
  • The 4 things that should happen every Sunday

Facilitator Jason Moore, author, speaker, and worship coach. He is the owner of Midnight Oil Productions and has been a featured presenter at COR Leadership Institute, Northwest Leadership Institute, School of Congregational Development, and has presented several seminars around the Mountain Sky Conference.
