Whole Church Initiative

What is the Whole Church Initiative?

Exploring the challenges of 21st century church, a 10-member team made up of Evangelical, Shiloh and Grace United Methodist Churches, both members and pastors, will be participating in the Whole Church Initiative(WCI).  The Whole Church Initiative will help us explore how we can share God’s love in our community in the coming years.  This process is built on the idea that there are no easy fixes. Moving congregations to greater vitality will take dedicated and prayerful work from clergy and lay leadership working in partnership.  The WCI process was developed by a pastor from here in Billings, Montana, Rev. Jeremy Scott.  Pastor Jeremy serves as our Vital Congregations Developer for the Mountain Sky Area and is helping to plant new churches and re-inspire existing churches to follow God’s call for their ministry.

The WCI is built to expose local church teams to a variety of information about church in the 21st century, its opportunities, and its challenges. In addition to information sharing, the process will guide congregations in identifying and executing ministry experiments that will help us better live into God’s calling for our church.  Over the next few months you will be hearing more from our team through newsletters, Facebook, email, and more. We will be commissioning the team in worship in the month of April.

We invite you to hold our team in prayer.  The Shiloh team members include Trudye King, Kelly Martinson, and Alyssa Munson.  To learn more about WCI please visit www.shilohbillings.church/WholeChurch

Enthusiastic Peace,

Pastor Tyler

 Take the Readiness 360

We are taking seriously our call to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. One thing we are considering is how our church can create new ministries to connect the growing edge of Billings to the love of God.  These ministries will need to consider meeting in our church, out of our church, reaching people in the latter half of life and young families and other young people.  To that end we are asking you to take an online survey called Readiness 360.

The Readiness 360 will help us identify opportunities for strengthening our multiplication DNA through assessing our spiritual intensity, dynamic relationships, missional alignment, and cultural openness. After a critical mass within our congregation takes the online survey, we will report back our findings and discover next steps together in the Fall of 2018.

Please click here to log in and type in our congregation’s survey code: 0897593194

Set aside 20 minutes to take the survey between now and 05/20/18 at midnight.

If you need help, please contact: Pastor Tyler, 406-656-0050 or PastorTyler@ShilohBillings.Church

Thanks in advance for helping our congregation assess and grow into God’s preferred future.
