Newsletter – December 2019

This December we will be journeying towards the birth of Christ with a key character to the story, Joseph. Sometimes we overlook his role, but Joseph was a father who helped to raise Jesus and care for him. What courageous actions can we learn from in the role of raising our savior?

Generosity Corner for Sunday, November 24, 2019

People of Shiloh,
Consecration Sunday was a great celebration.  We received over $138,000 in pledges for next year’s ministry and 15 people increased their estimate of giving over last year.  We could see a potential 20% bump in resources for our ministries next year, all thanks to your faithfulness.  I also saw the Holy Spirit’s presence last Sunday in people sharing their excitement about our ministry and hope for our future.  If you have not yet had a chance to complete an estimate of giving please get a card in worship or fill it out online at
In 1 John 4:12 it reads, “No one has ever seen God. If we love each other, God remains in us and love is made perfect in us.”  This letter embodies the deep sense of God bringing people together for the loving work Christ calls us to.  In my next several messages I want to highlight something happening here in Billings.  The Methodists are finding strength in our unity.  This December will mark 8 years of our Free Store ministry serving those in need.  This ministry has created space for us to serve our neighbors with the love of Christ, and we have done that in collaboration with other Methodist churches in Billings.
Currently, we are beginning to share resources for youth ministry, worship, children’s ministry, and even our recent generosity work was a shared effort.  I believe Methodists in Billings are being called to a future of inviting people of all backgrounds to serve Christ and share God’s love.
Would you all do me a favor?  Email or drop me a note this week, of where you see God at work through the life of Methodists in Billings.
Enthusiastic Peace,
Pastor Tyler

You do not have to shovel the parking lot, only the sidewalks in front of the church.
FREE STORE – Even though the calendar says we are still in fall, there are days the weather seems more like winter in February.  Consequently, the shoppers are in need of all kinds of winter wear.  We are especially short of mittens for ages 3-12, both sexes.  This church is always so supportive of this important ministry, which is so appreciated! The Free Store is now accepting paper backs. Whenever possible, please drop items off at EUMC (Drop-off  times are available Mon-Wed).  We really appreciate your support!!
