Shiloh E-Pistle for Thursday, May 28, 2020

A weekly video message from Pastor Tyler.

People of Shiloh,

In front of our church sits a rock that reminds us each of the call of our ministry as disciples of Jesus Christ.  It goes something like this…

“I will pour out my Spirit

    on every kind of people:

Your sons will prophesy,

    also your daughters;

Your young ones will see visions,

    your old ones dream dreams.”

The prophet is calling us to know that we are a part of the unfolding of God’s kingdom through even the challenging times.  That God will use our imaginations, our soul, our bodies and our being to help do this work.  I share this scripture with you because it is shared in the book of the prophet Joel and again in the Acts passage for Pentecost.  And as if those who placed the rock knew, it is the kind of understanding we need for a time such as this.

This summer we are going to be worshipping in creative ways, to maintain our community connection and to be a people of God in this age.

Drive In Worship starts this Sunday, May 31 at 10:30am and wear red for Pentecost.  We will have additional drive in worship services this summer at 10:30am on June 7, July 12, August 9 and September 6.  These services will provide the opportunity for you to park and stay in your car listening to worship on FM 88.5 or sit on the lawn physically distanced from others.

Also, we will be organizing small group worship for others.  This will allow you to meet for a message, prayer, fellowship and communion.  More details on these groups can be found at  We ask that all members of Shiloh fill out this form found at  This will help us know your interest, when in the week you are available, your comfort level with in person or not.  Thank you for taking the time to complete this.

We are a people of God living through challenging times, but like this scripture says, “God is with us.”  God is with us as we imagine our new future, and we are in a company of the saints who have lived through challenging times before us.

Enthusiastic Peace,

Pastor Tyler
